About the parent-teacher association (pta)

Mission:

To provide a forum for families, administration and educators of our school to collaborate and create a vibrant learning community for all students

Parent Teacher Association Purpose:

The purpose of Thrive Academy’s Parent Teacher Association is to:

  • Promote activities that enhance the joy and well-being of Thrive students and staff in a way that complements and enriches the learning environment;
  • Advocate on behalf of students, staff and the school;
  • Build community within the school, and enhance the relationship among the school, parents, and the wider community; and encourage the community’s investment of time, energy and money into Thrive Academy.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a Welcoming School Environment for Parents 
    • Send a welcome letter to parents
    • Post signs, displays and bulletin boards at the school entrance welcoming parents to the school.
  • Increase Parent Involvement in the School through Outreach Programming 
    • Create and distribute a school directory for parents
    • Survey parents to determine information they need from school 
    • Host parent workshops and meetings on issues of interest to your community
    • Develop ongoing relationships with community- and faith-based organizations to share information about the school and identify community resources 
    • Provide information and resources that can help parents to support their children’s learning at home
  • Support your School Principal in Addressing Parents’ Concerns 
    • Serve as the point of contact for parents 
    • Provide information to parents about LDOE supplemental services
    • Work with the school staff, Regional/District and Central Parent staff to address and resolve specific parent concerns

  • Sunday Activities and Investment
  • Parent Town Halls and Parent Nights
  • Charity Drive

Information Meeting:

  • Hosted during orientation days as a end of day event.

Meeting Dates:

PTA Meetings will always be held on Thrive’s Campus in room 105 on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:00pm
